The street name for this place is Lynn's Lavender at Tanuda Ridge Vineyard. And I have to be honest, the vineyard consumed an awful lot of time in the beginning. It still does. But Mike and I got married two years after I bought the place, and he loves the vineyard--and the pond. So he gets to work the vineyard (and it is work!) with our vineyard crew while I expand gardens all over the property. Lest you think we make wine, we don't. We're winegrowers. We sell our grapes to wineries. Our grape buyers have included Red Car, Senses, and Furthermore Wines. We now sell our grapes to Hawley Wines. They have a wonderful tasting room in Healdsburg, CA. And a superb wine club. To select their premium wines, visit their website: www.HawleyWines.com. Or visit their tasting room, right off the plaza in Healdsburg, CA.
And I want to give a shoutout to Claudio and his crew. They are amazing! When I first bought this place my daughter and I tried to prune the vines in spring. Well, after a full morning we'd made it through about half of a row. We have three blocks of grapes and who knows how many rows. At our rate it would be winter before we finished. Bring on the pros! These folks zip through the vines, knowing exactly where to cut, where to leaf, where to tuck, how to train. I am full of admiration for their skill.
